Strengthening the Future of Public Relations

Public Relations Foundation of Houston

To secure the future of public relations and the overall field of communication, quality individuals must enter the profession. These new practitioners must be highly educated and primed to deal with increasingly complex communication challenges ahead.

Each of us has the opportunity to provide for that future by supporting the Public Relations Foundation of Houston. Formed in 2001 by the Houston Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the Foundation supports educational excellence by helping prepare high school and college students for careers in public relations and communication.

Our charge is to award student scholarships and distribute funds to educational programs that support public relations and communication.

We Need Your Help

The Foundation welcomes your gifts-tax-deductible, charitable donations that help students realize their career dreams. There are many ways to contribute:

  • Make a general contribution or designate your gift to honor a colleague or friend.
  • Designate the Foundation as a recipient in your will.
  • Establish a memorial fund on behalf of a loved one.
  • Encourage your company to establish a named scholarship within the Public Relations Foundation for a permanent educational project.
  • Lend your talents to help us raise funds within the public relations community.

How the Foundation Works

Gifts to the Public Relations Foundation of Houston should be made through The Greater Houston Community Foundation. This fully tax-exempt public charity manages the Foundation's funds and serves a wide range of other donors by providing investment, regulatory and tax management.

The Greater Houston Community Foundation handles all of the Foundation's accounting and legal obligations, acknowledges contributions and manages other administrative responsibilities.

Ultimately, the Board of Trustees of the Public Relations Foundation of Houston directs the Greater Houston Community Foundation to issue scholarships and grants to qualified 501( c )3 tax-exempt organizations or equivalent.

The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees comprised of PRSA Houston officers, Board of Directors and members-at-large.
