PRSA Houston Job Bank: Growing Like Crazy!
Fueled by a rash of new listings to the PRSA Job Bank, job seekers are flocking to PRSA Houston''s Web site and establishing new records. On Monday, June 7, the PRSA Houston Web site logged a total of 463 job views, more than on any other single day since the site went live more than two years ago. The reason? Clearly, it''s summer and new graduates are scanning the Web looking for positions. However, the site has enjoyed steadily increasing traffic since the beginning of the year, an indication that the Job Bank has become an instrumental part of the Houston public relations scene.
"We have hit a point where employers know they can count on the PRSA Houston Job Bank to deliver a large number of highly qualified candidates," said Dan Keeney, APR, president of PRSA Houston. "As a result, we are getting more job listings, which attract more job seekers. It''s a very positive trend and real benefit for Houston''s public relations community."
Employers can post a job listing for three months on the PRSA job bank for $100. That money helps offset the costs associated with constantly upgrading and hosting PRSA Houston''s Web site, which is considered one of the best PRSA chapter Web sites in the country. Recently, those upgrades have included the addition of free listings for public service volunteers for qualified 501 (c)(3) organizations.
