David Monroe, born October 2, 1972 in Blytheville, Arkansas, passed away September 26, 2004 in Houston, TX, while visiting family.
Monroe had worked in the Houston PR industry for six years, on both the agency and corporate side, at companies including de la Garza PR and Cornell Companies. In the summer of 2003 he moved to New York, and became a freelance PR pro, working for Reuters, Marina Maher Communications, and most recently, with Sue Preziotti PR and Fleishman-Hillard. He had also carried out pro bono work with the Houston chapter of the National Kidney Foundation, an organization that was dear to his heart.
Monroe is survived by his son, Christopher, his fiancee Elly Trickett, parnets Diane Cowley and her husband Paul, Ronnie Monroe and his wife Adrienne; his sister and brother-in-law Rhonda and Mike Kelly; his brother Cameron Monroe, his nieces Christina and Heather Kelly; and his many loving friends and relatives.
A funeral service will be held at the Klein Funeral Home in Champions Forest, Klein, TX (281-320-2674) on Thursday at 10am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
