Oct. 5: BP Crisis Communication Case Study

When the alarm sounds, hear from Marti Gazzier how BP gets the team pulled together and on the ground. Marti will discuss how BP has dealt with the necessities and the importance of training and drills for crisis communications.

Her presentation will cover both the people points (media response, families, near neighbors, government, etc) and dealing with investigations and lawsuits, as well as lessons learned.

Marti recently served as the director of Corporate Reputation for BP North America. Her work included developing a national program to specifically target key audiences taking into account the External Affairs priorities for North America.  She served as a member of the US policy reputation council and assisted in defining tactics and plans that enhanced BP’s reputation, setting milestones and metrics, and monitoring developments and activities to see that the plan was implemented.
