On August 27, 2005, PRSA Houston launched a local program with the Girl Scouts of the San Jacinto Council to help Senior Girl Scouts earn their Public Relations Interest Project Award.
The intro session included a discussion of terms in public relations. PRSA members brought in samples to share with Girl Scouts to create a better understanding of the tools of the trade.

During the lunch discussion, the Girls planned a campaign to communicate about those aspects of Girl Scouting that might not be known or misperceived, especially as relates to Senior Girl Scouts. Examples included the opportunity to travel, as well as numerous leadership opportunities.
