Don't Miss the Excalibur Gala June 17

A cocktail reception and silent auction benefiting the Public Relations Foundation of Houston student scholarship will begin at 6 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m., followed by the awards presentations. 

 

Legacy Award Winner Announced

 

We are pleased to announce the PRSA Houston Legacy Award will be presented to Kris Taylor, APR. A former PRSA Houston president, Taylor has been a communications force in Texas education for more than 30 years. Recently retired from Katy I.S.D., Taylor is known as a phenomenal strategist with the ability to engage local communities in building stronger support for Texas public schools. Please join us at the Excalibur Awards, as we honor her outstanding achievements.

The Public Relations Foundation of Houston (PRFH) will host its annual silent auction June 17 as part of the 2010 Excalibur Awards for Excellence. PRFH challenges you to

Ally Hugg PR Foundation $3,000 Scholarship Winner
 
This year’s PRFH scholarship recipient is University of Texas Public Relations and Advertising master’s degree candidate, Ally Hugg.
 
Hugg graduated from Bellaire High School and is a senior at St. Edward’s University in Austin, where she maintains a 3.84 grade point average and serves as the campus’ Public Relations Student Society of America president. She will begin her studies at UT in the fall.
 
The board thanks all of the students who applied for this year's scholarship. All eligible students are encouraged to mark their calendars for early October, when the 2011-2012 scholarship application will be posted on the PRFH page of the PRSA Houston site.
 



July Seminar, Luncheon: You Can’t NOT Communicate and Other 'Must-Dos' of High-Performing Communications Departments

 

What differentiates the top leaders?  What’s the best defense in managing change and difficult situations, or driving change?

 

This July, David Grossman, ABC, APR, Fellow PRSA, will lead a morning workshop in addition to the monthly luncheon and explain how the most effective leaders and successful organizations use leadership communications to drive their business. PRSA Houston members and guests can register online for the morning seminar, luncheon, or both.

 

Grossman is the founder of The Grossman Group, a Chicago-based communications consultancy that specializes in organizational consulting, strategic leadership development and internal communications. He is also the author of You Can’t NOT Communicate: Proven Solutions That Power the Fortune 100.
