PRSA Houston Members and Friends Invited to Help Local Girl Scouts Earn Their Interest Project Award in Public Relations

PRSA Houston members and friends are invited to help local Girl Scouts in the San Jacinto and South Texas Councils earn the Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) interest project award in public relations.

The interest project encourages Girl Scouts ages 11-17 to learn about the public relations profession. To earn the GSUSA Public Relations Interest Project Award, Girl Scouts are required to complete activities such as creating press kits to publicize themselves, interviewing public relations practitioners about their daily responsibilities and role-playing pitches as a spokesperson for a favorite cause.

Girl Scouts also are required to complete one or more service projects before earning the GSUSA Public Relations Interest Project Award.  Such projects include volunteering to help a local organization publicize its services to the community or writing an article for media placement.

The Public Relations Girl Scout Award Project is sponsored by PRSA Houston’s New Professionals Group, which supports public relations practitioners who are in the first five years of their careers. Click to view the PRSA Houston and Girl Scout Award press release.
