Jan. 5: METRO CEO on Customer Service, Community, Future of Light Rail

Join PRSA Houston Jan. 5, 2011 at its monthly luncheon to hear METRO’s president and CEO George Greanias discuss its public outreach and community relations strategies used to advance METRO's initiatives.


Greanias has led METRO since May 2010. He oversees 3,500 employees and a $1.3 billion annual budget. In his short time at the helm, Greanias has established an ambitious agenda that includes completing the build-out of Houston's light rail, improving customer service and making METRO more transparent to the public it serves.


Greanias is a renaissance man with an intriguing and diverse background. He has worked as a corporate and government regulation attorney, served as a Houston City Council member and Controller, and as a non-profit consultant and assistant professor. He is also an accomplished writer and playwright.

‘Tis the Season to Give to the PR Foundation of Houston


As the recession collides with tuition hikes, college students are stretching their budgets more than ever to pay for school. With the costs of attending a four-year educational institution on the rise, students need additional avenues to finance their education.


We are asking you to make a donation to the Public Relations Foundation of Houston (PRFH), the philanthropic arm of the Houston Chapter of PRSA.


Please consider contributing $25, $50, $100 or more this season as it directly helps deserving students studying communication disciplines right here in our own community. Every amount helps! And for every $25 you contribute, your name will be entered into our drawing to win $25 gift certificates to area restaurants, the theatre and more.

The PRFH was formed to support the growth and development of the public relations profession by awarding scholarships to college students at regional universities. Our $3,000 annual scholarship is the largest of its kind offered by any PRSA chapter in the country, a feat made possible by everyone’s collective support.
