In an effort to encourage members to participate at the PRSA District level, this year PRSA Houston will provide two stipends to chapter emerging leaders to attend the Southwest District Conference, June 5-7, in Austin. The amount of each stipend is $250 to be used toward either registration or travel costs.
An emerging leader of the PRSA Houston chapter is defined as a newcomer to the industry with less than ten years of experience and with a demonstrated history of actively volunteering with PRSA Houston. An emerging leader is also someone who, through participation, helps to shape the future identity of the chapter. Additionally, ideal candidates should express an interest in becoming accredited, or should have already earned their APR.
To qualify for a stipend, you are required to submit a brief essay of no more than 250 words on why you deserve to be selected and how you think it will not only impact your career but also PRSA Houston. The essay should note how you intend to share ideas and information learned at the conference with PRSA Houston members and how PRSA Houston will benefit from your attendance at the conference.
In addition to the essay, please provide the following information:
- contact info
- experience in public relations
- number of years as a chapter member
- relevant volunteer experience with our chapter
For more information or to submit an essay, please contact Ed Davis at firstname.lastname@example.org. Essay’s will not be accepted after midnight on May 19. Recipient’s will be notified no later than May 22.
