Volunteers Needed January 17, 2009: PRSA Houston Girl Scout Workshop

In 2005, PRSA Houston’s New Professionals Group launched a program targeting Girl Scouts between the ages of 11 and 17 to help them meet the requirements for the GSUSA Interest Project Award in Public Relations. Through a three-hour workshop, which is offered two or three times per year, PRSA Houston volunteers help girls understand the lingo of the profession, create press kits about themselves and learn about the daily responsibilities of public relations practitioners.

The first workshop of 2009 will take place on Saturday, January 17 from 1 to 4 pm at the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council Program Place for Girls (3000 Southwest Freeway, Houston, 77098). This is the building with the red sculpture in front.
We've changed the format for the workshop and have updated the content to include Web 2.0 and will address how technology has changed the way that PR professionals communicate with our audiences.

Please contact Kelly George, APR, at or 281-575-4009 if you would like to volunteer.
