Shell Trading Services Company is currently seeking a Communication Advisor in their Houston, Texas location.

Responsibilities:

  • Protect, enhance and promote the reputation of Shell Trading
  • Ensure the organization's license to operate and grow by contributing to the CX team's delivery of effective internal and external communications support for its companies in North America

Key Accountabilities:

  • Serve as a proactive CX team member dedicated to protecting, enhancing and promoting the reputation of Shell Trading and Shell overall, ensuring proper use of the brand and adherence with visual identity standards by all employees
  • Provide diverse range of internal and external communications support, displaying team-oriented behaviors and adaptability to the ever-changing dynamics of a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment that demands responsive, high-quality internal customer interaction and work products
  • Support crisis management exercises and response to real events/incidents, ensuring close alignment with the global Shell Trading network, Shell US Corporate Affairs and the Shell Group
  • Serve as internal communications focal point for assigned internal customers
  • Implement internal and external communications activities as assigned by Communications Manager, such as project planning, quarterly town halls and other employee-related initiatives, as well as issues and crisis management projects
  • Write, edit and maintain content for Shell Trading communications tools as assigned, including Intranet and Internet sites, electronic e-news messages, quarterly Shell Trading staff publication and engagement materials. Jointly accountable for maintenance of Intranet content (in conjunction with STASCO CX counterpart)
  • Support media monitoring associated with Shell Trading business activities and assist with other media relations activities, as assigned, such as Daily News Summary
  • Assist with monitoring and measuring results of Communications programs and projects, including developing and implementing surveys

Required Experience:

Requirements:

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Bachelor's degree in public relations or communications-related field
  • Accreditation in public relations preferred
  • Strong communications professional with at least seven years of experience and a diverse range of experience, including crisis communications
  • Solid journalistic and feature-style writing and editorial skills; applicants may be asked to submit original or unedited writing samples
  • Good understanding of communications channels and matching communication needs with most effective means for delivery
  • Proven ability to develop and implement communication strategies and plans with measurable results that support business objectives
  • Highly effective interpersonal engagement skills and team orientation
  • Ability to communicate with and advise employees at all levels of an organization
  • Accountable team player that is proactive and consistently delivers at a high performance level
  • Creative self-starter who operates effectively under pressure and has strong organizational and multi-tasking skills in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate sound judgment and reliability in fast-paced, complex work environments
  • Ability to adapt as required to meet day-to-day needs of the business and to travel periodically
