Public Relations Account Executive 


Job Description

Reports to vice president/director of public relations.  Involves direct interaction with a vast array of clients in several industries.  Public relations account executive will create public relations concepts and plans, and will be directly responsible for executing tactics from those to plans with several clients.  Tactics include crisis communication, special event planning, media relations, promotions, public relations program development, newsletters and other collateral material involved with public relations project.


-With oversight from public relations director, manages client public relations programs from creation through execution, including budgets, outlines, timelines, conference reports, client meetings, and client approvals.
-Writes feature stories, news releases, media advisories, letters to the editor, fact sheets, and other media related materials.
-Will contact media and build relationships with key reporters and editors.  Will book radio and television talk shows, as well as meetings with newspaper editorial boards.
-Collects and tracks all media clippings relevant to clients.
-Plans, develops and writes feature and news stories for client monthly e-magazines and newsletters.
-Assists with and plans special events, grand openings, news conferences, etc.
-Works with special event and premium vendors to secure products or services to enhance special event/publicity.
-Keeps abreast of current events that can affect RCCO and clients by reading daily and weekly newspapers, trade magazines and other publications in order to create and provide news pitches that are relevant to the publication's audience.
-Coordinates/plans photography requests.
-Maintains current media directory for San Antonio and surrounding areas, as well as national, regional and trade related media that is specific to client request.

Required Experience:

Degree in public relations, communications, or related from accredited university plus three years public relations or communications experience required.  Agency experience a plus.  Must be a self starter and multi tasker with strong writing and organizational skills.  Salary commensurate with experience.
