Prior to founding Spur Digital, Steve Latham served as Chief Operating Officer of Mongoose Technology Inc., an enterprise portal software vendor. In this role, he planned and managed sales, marketing, business development, finance and administration. During his tenure, he restructured the company’s operations, developed and implemented new sales and marketing strategies and recruited and managed an experienced sales and services team.


Prior to joining Mongoose, Steve served as Vice President - Business Development for PentaSafe Security Technologies, a leading enterprise security software vendor. Steve joined PentaSafe early in its development and was charged with a broad range of responsibilities, including business planning, strategic marketing, partners, channel sales and finance. At PentaSafe, Steve was responsible for raising $45 million in venture funding, revising PentaSafe’s business plan and strategic positioning, developing strategic partnerships, building a channel sales organization, leading acquisition efforts and building an analyst relations program. Steve’s efforts contributed to the company’s ultimate acquisition by Net IQ Corp (NASDAQ: NTIQ) in 2002.


Prior to that, Steve was a Co-Founder and Director of Operations for the Houston Technology Center , a privately funded accelerator for emerging high-tech companies. In this capacity, he was responsible for developing HTC’s strategy, organizational structure and operational systems while overseeing marketing and community development efforts. He also developed programs to assist entrepreneurs and managed the process of reviewing, admitting and assisting HTC’s portfolio companies.


Earlier in his career, served as Vice President of Yellowstone Capital, a Houston-based private equity investment fund, where he sourced, structured and negotiated private equity investments. Steve was also a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group and a Senior Analyst and Commercial Relationship Manager with NationsBank-Texas.


Steve earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BBA in Finance from the University of Oklahoma . He presently serves as a Director for the Houston Technology Center and as the Chairman of the Greater Houston Partnership''s Emerging Business Council. Steve is a member of the Technology Executive Club of Houston and on the editorial board for Technology Houston. Steve was recently selected to serve on the Mayor’s Economic Task Force and is a frequent guest lecturer at the University of Oklahoma , the University of Houston and Rice University .
