Director of Public Relations
Steve Mark, a fixture in Houston television sports since 1984, joined the Houston Dynamo in 2007 as Director of Public Relations and as the team’s first radio play-by-play voice. Steve is also an integral presence in the Dynamo’s enhanced website and television coverage as managing editor of houstondynamo.com.
Steve has been a sports anchor and reporter at KPRC, KRIV and KHOU prior to joining the Dynamo. Through those stints Steve earned numerous awards, including Best Sportscaster from the Dallas Press Club and Texas’ Best Sportscast by the Associated Press. The AP also honored Steve for his coverage of the 1996 Olympics. Prior to moving to Houston in 1984, Steve worked in Austin (KLBJ –FM, KTVV-TV) and Tulsa (KOTV-TV).
Among Steve’s other professional credits include being part of the USA Network broadcast team for Southwest Conference basketball, and numerous appearances on SportsChannel and ESPN.
The Chicago native attended the University of Texas at Austin. Steve is an avid photographer and has been published frequently as a sports and feature writer in a wide variety of national publications. Steve and his wife, Donna, have three children, Aaron, Jenna and Dustin. Always close to his roots, the Mark family golden retriever is named Wrigley Banks.
