B. Candace Beeke was named editor of the Houston Business Journal in November 2010.  Beeke was editor of the weekly Business Review West Michigan since May 2008, and began her career in journalism at Business Direct Weekly, a predecessor of the Business Review, as a reporter in 2001.

Beeke graduated from Western Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a minor in journalism.  She taught advanced and basic journalism as adjunct faculty at WMU since 2003.
 
Beeke is married to Ben Beeke. The couple has three children: Lily, 8; Jack, 6; and Harper, 17 months.
 
The Houston Business Journal is one of the nation’s oldest business-to-business news publications. HBJ is owned by American City Business Journals.
