This panel, moderated by Nancy Sims of Pierpont Communications, will provide insight and perspective into the role of community partnerships in managing corporate reputation.  The panel will provide corporate and nonprofit perspectives on the significance of joining with community organizations and the impact these partnerships may have on the bottom line.

Nancy Sims is Senior Vice President at Pierpont Communications where she leads the public affairs practice.  This thriving practice area specializes in reputation management and includes crisis communications, civic engagement, community and governmental relations, stakeholder communications, and more. Nancy is frequently asked by media to provide analysis of elections and policy issues. 


Nancy has worked in the public affairs arena for more than 30 years.  Prior to joining Pierpont, she owned her own public affairs and political consulting firm for 15 years.  She advised many of Texas’ leading political figures as well as a diverse base of business interests. 


Nancy also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Political Science at the University of Houston where she likes to say, “I’m teaching the next generation of operatives”.


She has been recognized for her outstanding work by the Texas Public Relations Association, PRSA – Houston, IABC, American Association of Political Consultants and the American Marketing Association-Texas. She’s a graduate or alum of Leadership Houston, Center for Houston’s Future, American Leadership Forum and the Texas Lyceum. 


Nancy believes strongly in giving back to her community.  She serves on the Board of Directors of the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau and Crime Stoppers Houston.  She serves on the Advisory Boards of Child Advocates, SEARCH Homeless Coalition and Da Camera.  In 2005, Nancy received the Gordon Bethune Go Forward Award from the Houston Downtown Alliance for her commitment to the arts and helping to move downtown Houston forward.


Nancy has worked in the Texas Legislature and at Houston’s City Hall.  She studied in the U.S. Congress, London, England and Limerick, Ireland.  A graduate of Sam Houston State University, Nancy received her Master’s in Liberal Arts from the University of St. Thomas.
