Building the Houston Dynamo Brand: Forever Orange *Please note: New Luncheon Location!

ChrisCanetti.jpg

Join Houston Dynamo President Chris Canetti on July 10 as he speaks about all things Dynamo - from the debut of the Houston Dynamo in 2006, including two Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup championships, to the construction of the BBVA Compass Stadium that opened in May 2012.  Canetti played a major role in bringing Manchester United to Houston for the 2010 MLS All-Star Game, which played before a sell-out crowd of 72,000 fans that set a Reliant Stadium record for a soccer match and went on to be the fourth largest All-Star Game in sports history.  In addition to the many accomplishments of the Houston Dynamo, the players are extremely involved in giving back to their community, which happens through Dynamo Charities, the charitable arm of the Houston Dynamo.  Dynamo Charities takes part in community and neighborhood rebuilding projects, restoring the environment through recycling campaigns, youth development education support and healthy living education activities.

Canetti will speak not only about building the Houston Dynamo brand, but also about the growth of soccer and the widespread interest in the sport.  You won't want to miss this engaging discussion, and you are welcome to display your #ForeverOrange pride at the luncheon!

This will be the first event in our new location, the Houston Racquet Club.  Thank you to Halliburton for sponsoring this luncheon.  Other sponsorships are available.  Please contact Trish Cunningham at trish.cunningham@brookwoods.com or Paula Ruth, APR, prsahouston@paularuth.com for more information.

Chris has overseen all aspects of the Dynamo business and works with the Dynamo's head coach on soccer operations since joining the organization during its inaugural season in 2006.

Chris was honored with the Doug Hamilton Executive of the Year Award from Major League Soccer in 2008 and has been named to the Sports Business Journal's Forty under 40 list for 2010.

He played a major role in bringing Manchester United to Houston for the 2010 MLS All-Star Game, which played before a sellout crowd of 72,000 fans that set a Reliant Stadium record for a soccer match.  This was the fourth largest All-Star Game in sports history.

Over the past five years, Chris has contributed to the Dynamo's two MLS Cup championships.  Off the field, he has helped the Dynamo lead MLS in average playoff attendance from 2006-2012 and rank consistently among the league leaders in attendance.  Chris also has overseen the launch of Dynamo Charities and the success of the Dynamo Youth Development System, through which four players have been signed to professional contracts, two made their MLS debuts in 2010, two joined the team in January 2011 and one joined in February 2013.
