New Professionals Quarterly Mixer

Isidro Reyna, APR, joined the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District as a civilian public affairs officer in 2009. As the deputy chief of public affairs, Isidro maintains internal and external communications for the district, ensuring the public affairs office effectively communicates the district's engineering mission strategically and transparently to a diverse group of audiences ranging from stakeholders to congressional representatives.


 


Prior to his employment with the district, Isidro worked as a public affairs specialist in the U.S. Army’s Office of the Chief of Public Affairs at the Pentagon, Washington, D.C., and Operational Test Command at Fort Hood, Texas, executing media relations, command information and community relations initiatives.


 


Previous to his employment with the federal government, he worked as an account supervisor for a San Antonio-based public relations agency, ensuring marketing and public relations objectives were met for corporate and non-profit clients.


 


Isidro became Accredited in Public Relations in 2011 and currently serves as a PRSA Houston assembly delegate and board member. He’s earned more than 40 awards during his career, including the PRSA Silver Anvil Award of Excellence and Grand Excalibur awards and was part of the two-person office recognized as the PRSA Houston Government Communications Team of the Year in 2014.


 


Isidro earned a Bachelor of Arts in communication from Our Lady of the Lake University in 2006 and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in communication from the University of Houston.
