Public relations in any industry can present challenges, but when providing public relations expertise to one of the most well-known families in the nation, those challenges can be even more unique. Join the PR Foundation of Houston and PRSA Houston on August 5 to hear from Jim McGrath of Begala-McGrath as he shares lessons learned from working with the Bush family over the last quarter century.
McGrath began his career at The White House as a staff writer and editor in the Executive Office of the President before serving as Deputy Press Secretary for George W. Bush's re-election campaign for Governor of Texas and counseling numerous political candidates at the local, state and federal levels. He has written dozens of speeches, op-ed pieces, annual reports and website materials for business and civic leaders and written/co-written several books including Heartbeat: George Bush in His Own Words in 2001 and My Father, My President: A Personal Account of the Life of George H. W. Bush. He currently serves as the spokesperson for George H. W. and Barbara Bush. All proceeds from the luncheon will benefit the PR Foundation of Houston, which provides scholarships to deserving PR students from or studying in the Houston area.
