How We Promote & Develop Our Profession
As members of the PR profession in the Houston area, we have a unique opportunity to support future practitioners studying communication disciplines right in our own community. The Public Relations Foundation of Houston (PRFH) was formed in 2001 by members of the Houston Chapter of PRSA. It supports the growth and development of our profession in two meaningful ways:
- Awards scholarships to college students.
- Provides grants and awards to educators.
The PRFH annually awards a $3,000 scholarship to an undergraduate or graduate student studying PR/communications and is either from the Houston area or is attending Sam Houston State University, Texas A&M or the University of Houston.
Additionally, the James W. Hart Jr. Scholarship was established as an endowed fund within the PRFH. It was funded by James Hart in recognition of the Legacy Award winner.
